Located along the Cartecay River in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia, Fireside Log Homes began operations in early 1984 with a deep commitment to produce the highest quality log homes and log home materials available at very competitive prices. The first building manufactured was a model that was featured in the Atlanta Spring Home Show and stands today on the site of our mill and sales office in Ellijay. Thousands of homes have been delivered throughout the U.S. and our export business now includes homes and country inns in Central America and Japan.
FIRESIDE has selected eastern white pine and western red cedar as the two species for creating our homes. The characteristics of these two woods enable them to perform in the long term as the most desirable, low maintenance materials that can be used to create log homes. Our high grading standards insure you the best of the best. The region surrounding our mill produces some of the highest quality white pines in the nation. Our western red cedar is delivered to us from Washington and British Columbia.
Our most valuable innovation at FIRESIDE is Process 2000. We pressure treat with a stabilizing agent that minimizes shrinkage and thereby minimizes defects such as checking and twisting that have plagued log homes. In addition, we add safe biocides that reduce problems with insects, mold, mildew and fungi. The major concerns are effectively dealt with through FIRESIDE'S Process 2000. Over 1,000 of our homes have now been treated with Process 2000.
