Quality Control - Dry Logs: High elevation dry logs are selected from dead stands in the forests of the Northwest. Using dry logs for building log homes minimized the shrinkage and settlement factor, and is a more environmentally sound practice than cutting green trees.
Each log goes through several quality control checks before use in a Montana Idaho Log Home.
Drawknives are used to handpeel each log. This oldstyle method makes logs more weather resistant and refinishing less frequent. It also gives the entire home a true handhewn look.
Each log home package is completely built on our construction yard in Victor, Montana. When your foundation is ready, each log is coded to a set of plans, and the home disassembled, then shipped to your site.
