Clearwater Log Homes builds with hand picked log stock from Idaho forests. Western Larch and White Pine are our primary species. Optional species are available upon request. The logs are handpeeled with a drawknife to retain the protective insulating layer and to enhance the natural coloring and character of each log. We build using the Scandinavian Cope, full scribed method, which results in very tight fitting wall logs. Full length logs are used throughout the entire home, there are no log splices as found in typical "kit" log homes. Your log shell is entirely constructed at our Clearwater log construction yard by skilled logsmiths using chainsaws and traditional hand tools. Then your house is reassembled by our own crew on your home site. This assures high quality control and eliminates any guess work on the owners part. After the home is re-set, we will cut and keyway the door and window openings. We would like to meet with your contractor or carpenter to provide technical information and to answer any questions they may have.
