Custom Log Homes Ltd. is a medium-sized, handcrafted log house manufacturer. We are located in the interior of British Columbia, where most of the highest quality house logs in the world are found.
We work primarily in Spruce, but other species are available on request. Our standard notch is the Shrink to Fit Saddle Notch, but we are flexible and can do any notch requested.
All of our logs are planed by hand, with an electric power planer. This results in the look of a hand-peeled log, but is much smoother. Our notch cuts are also planed by hand, rather than sanded, maintaining this superior surface. This planed surface accepts a wood finish much better and is less susceptible to decay because the cells of the wood are closed by the planing.
We are familiar with and have experience in all styles of handcrafted log house construction. We can build scribe-fit or chinked style, dovetail or timber frame.
We can offer a Log Shell only, or a complete house package, including windows, doors, flooring, roofing, wood stoves and fireplaces.
