History: Our founder, Earl Krieger, has over 30 years diversified residential and commercial construction experience. His background in woodworking stemmed from his ancestors. Krieger's grandfather was a timber-framer who moved to the United States from Germany in the mid 1800's. Krieger's father, apprenticed to his own father, also became a master craftsman, specializing in fine furniture and cabinetry.
Krieger enhanced his formative training in the art of woodworking by pursuing an education in architectural engineering. After college he launched a construction firm. Krieger's business thrived, specializing in custom homes with fine woodwork, and extensive historical restoration projects. It was over twenty-five years ago when Earl Krieger was hired to perform the first log home restoration of his professional career. This project included tagging each log member, disassembling, then reassembling the old log structure on a new site. The finished log home was made structurally sound, and lavishly appointed for a primary residence.
Having successfully completed this challenging log home project, Krieger's expertise was solicited by many others. In fact, log homes became a large part of his construction business, averaging 26 log homes per year. Log homes became his work of choice, and Krieger decided to pursue the growing log home industry on a national level. He sold his construction firm, and accepted a management position with a large log home company with over 200 dealers.
