A MESSAGE FROM The President: Dear Log Home Customer... Tussey Mountain Log Homes has been manufacturing log homes since 1975. In the beginning we air dried our logs as many companies still do. Although air dried logs are still available, most of our Eastern White Pine logs and all of our Northern White Cedar Logs are now kiln dried.
By kiln drying our log cants in the rough stage before they are milled, we are able to produce the finest white pine and white cedar logs on the market today. Kiln drying virtually eliminates warping, shrinking, twisting and will assure your logs to be insect free.
Log walls act as thermal collectors and release heat into a home even after the thermostat is lowered or the fire banked for the night. According to the Better Homes and Gardens' article of October 1980 "Buying and Building A Log Home", "R" values aside, a log home that has no additional insulation in it's walls can be 25% to 30% more energy efficient than a frame house insulated in the conventional manner. Wood is loved for it's warmth and charm, for it has incredible strength, durability and superior insulating qualities. A LOG HOME IS QUALITY OF UTMOST VALUE!
YES, you do have a choice with Tussey Mountain Log Homes and we look forward to serving you. Please visit the Tussey Mountain Log Homes, Inc. Web site to view our floorplans, blueprints and photos. Telephone: 1-814-563-4648.
